Chadron celebrates "Magic City Christmas" Dec. 3-6, as part of A Country Christmas. Welcome Santa as he arrives on the train Dec. 3 and then head to the Downtown Plaza for meet-and-greets with Santa, food, live music and the Community Christmas Tree Lighting. Stop by the Historic Dawes County Courthouse for the Festival of Trees and Live Nativity and line Main Street for the Parade of Lights.
Explore the area Dec. 4 before another Santa meet-and-greet that evening. On Dec. 5 get your Christmas shopping in at the Kris Kringle XMAS Boutique at the Dawes County Fairgrounds. If you were lucky enough to get a coveted ticket to the Fort Robinson Historical Christmas Dinner, head over to the state park that evening. Tickets for this event go on sale Nov. 2 at 8 a.m. in person only at select locations in Northwest Nebraska.
Wrap up the weekend at the Swan Lake Tea Party & Costume Showcase Dec. 6 with a sneak peak of the costumes for the Swan Lake Ballet, which will be performed Dec. 13.
