Omaha Sports Club

The Omaha Sports Club (OSC) will celebrate its 85th Anniversary on Friday, Oct. 23, honoring a legacy that has connected generations of Omahans through sports, recreation, friendship and community involvement since 1941. Founded as the Union Pacific Skating Club, the organization began with just 125 members who gathered for private skating sessions at the Ak-Sar-Ben Coliseum. As membership grew beyond Union Pacific employees, the organization evolved into the Omaha Sports Club in 1953 and expanded its offerings to include a wide variety of sports and social activities. Today, the Omaha Sports Club remains a member-driven organization offering year-round opportunities for sports, competition, social events and community engagement. The anniversary celebration will bring together current and former members, family, friends and community supporters to recognize the organization's rich history and lasting impact on Omaha's sports and social landscape.
